MGMC- ADVANCING THE FAITH, EDUCATION & UNITY AND BRINGING THE COMMUNITY TOGETHER!
Ibn Abbas (RA) reported:
The Prophet ﷺ made Zakat al-Fitr compulsory so that those who fasted may be purified of their idle deeds and shameful talk (committed during Ramadan), and so that the poor may be fed. Whoever gives it before (Eid) Salah will have it accepted as Zakat, while he who gives it after the Salah has given Sadaqah. (Ibn Majah)
Dear Brothers and sisters-in-Islam
We pray that by the grace of Allah (SW), you all are in good health and attaining for the maximum rewards of this blessed month Ramadan.
One of the obligations for the Muslims during the month of Ramadan is to give Zakat al-Fitr/ Sadaqah al-fitr. This beautiful Islamic duty is not only for the poor to have foods for the Eid day, but rather to purify ourselves from the sins we may have committed in this Ramadan.
We recommend at least £6 per person, which can then be used to provide food for the poor and needy in time for Eid – for this to work, please pay well before the end of Ramadan! It needs to be given on behalf of every member of a family, young and old. So, a family with two parents and two children would give 4 x £6, i.e. £24. If you can be more generous, then even better!
Due to the current pandemic, we urge all brothers to pay this Zakat al-Fitr/ Sadaqah al-Fitr before the 23rd Ramadan ( Wednesday5th May ) to ensure the needy receives this (Zakat al-Fitr/ Sadaqah al-Fitr) well before Eid day.
Please transfer the appropriate amount to the following account and put "Fit'r1442 & your initials" as a reference. You may send your contact number to us and we will send you the confirmation of receipt (if applicable). Otherwise, if you prefer to pay in person then please contact us and we will try to facilitate it accordingly.
